CARNIVAL POSTPONED DUE TO BAD WEATHER

Due to the forecasted bad weather we have decided to postpone the Carnival.

All over events will be continuing as planned, including the FestaFiesta!

CARNIVAL & COMMUNITY FAIR, INTO FESTA FIESTA

This year’s theme is ENERGY. This covers all forms of energy production as well as energy from dance, music and movement.

CARNIVAL PARADE

SAT 8 JUNE – From 11am

Venetian Waterways to St. George’s Theatre

The Carnival starts at 11am at the Venetian Waterways to celebrate their re-opening after a massive re- development. The parade will pass down North Drive, up Regent Road, through the Market Place, along King Street to St. George’s Theatre. Here Festa Fiesta will start and the parade will divide; part going to the Library for the Community Fair.

Great Yarmouth Library

The annual Community Fair brings all the communities together in and around the Library with singing, dancing, stalls, food and drink. Delicious BBQ and a cake making competition.

We are calling out to the community to come together at the Drill House to take part in our creative factories over two weekends. The Reprezent Project are producing large scare arches inspired by the Portuguese Arcos de St Antonio festivities. You are invited to help decorate them with flowers and windmills, with a contemporary urban twist, incorporating colours and visual references representing the diverse cultures, nationalities and energy industries in Great Yarmouth.

FESTA FIESTA - KING STREET PARTY

St. George’s Plaza, King Street

Take to the streets and venues of our beautifully decorated, blossoming, Cultural Quarter as the Reprezent Project lead the way to spread party fever for all the family to enjoy on King Street. In collaboration with SeaChange Arts and Portuguese artist, Slap, enjoy a day long, Latin flavoured jamboree of festivity, music from DJ Duo Beatbombers and world foods from our local King Street traders.
